We are a community-led organisation providing vital support and services to the people of Cabra and the wider community.

 

Little Explorers is an 9-week, sensory-based programme designed to support both neurotypical and neurodivergent children in developing social and emotional regulation skills.

  • What are you gonna learn?
    Children will learn to understand and manage their emotions through sensory exploration, mindfulness, self-compassion, movement activities, and play. The programme helps build self-awareness, emotional regulation, attention, positive social interaction, confidence, and resilience.
  • Who’s gonna lead? Delivered by experience professionals.
  •  Where and when?
    10 weeks programme in Cabra Family Centre.
  • Benefits?
    Little Explorers helps children develop emotional awareness, self-regulation, self-esteem, self-compassion, resilience, and stronger connections with others. Parents and carers benefit from a greater understanding of emotional regulation, practical tools to support their child, increased confidence in responding to emotional needs, and a stronger parent-child relationship.

In Cabra FRC we offer who’s struggling withpsychological problems a space to share, grow and support to enhances the assets and skills.

  • What are you gonna do? You will learn to explore challenges affecting emotional wellbeing, communication, relationships, and family life. Using a compassionate, relationship-based approach, you will learn to understand the wider experiences, relationships, and environments that shape your life, strengthen connections, and identify positive pathways forward. 
  • Who’s gonna lead?  You’ll need to ask for a referral or self-referral via the Tusla Therapeutic Hub.
  •  Where and when? 
  • Benefits? Create a safe and supportive space to strengthen relationships, build understanding of challenges, work through difficulties together, improve communication, and more!

In Cabra FRC we offer parents a way to reduce uncertainty and getting extra support during parenting challenges and connect with other families feeling they’re not alone in this journey.

  • What are you gonna learn? Practical tools for everyday family life like understand and nurture your baby’s early development from pregnancy, including attachment, communication, and sensory development, strategies to support children and young people in general and with ADHD, in particular,  early learning and development through play, songs, stories, and rhymes, and many more! 
  • Who’s gonna lead? Fully trained and experienced facilitators from our partners.
  •  Where and when? At Cabra Family Resource Centre (in-person) and, where possible, online via Zoom.
  • Benefits? Some of them will be building parent confidence, strengthening relationships and emotional connection, improving positive communication, connecting with other families in the community and more!

In Cabra FRC we offer parents and newborns a space to connect and build a caring and conscious relationship with their little ones.

  • What are you gonna do? You will spend time and shared experiences and positive interactions with other parents and kids.
  • Who’s gonna lead? Our partners from Ignite and Fair.
  •  Where and when? Here in Cabra Family Resource Centre.
  • Benefits? The benefits include reducing isolation, encouraging social connection, and supporting positive parent-child interaction through relaxed play opportunities in a safe and supportive environment. Additionally, the group supports children’s social, emotional, language, and developmental growth while allowing parents to build connections, enjoy quality time with their child, develop supportive peer connections, and build confidence through shared experiences and positive early interactions and many more!
